Customer ReviewsQuoad Toad Said: One of the few foods my parakeet will eat ( Dec. 30th 2009 ) My parakeet is extremely picky. I went through all the types of food sold at my local pet store and my bird refused to eat any of them. I finally found the Geisler food on Amazon and decided to give it a try out of desperation (my poor bird was starving herself). To my surprise, my parakeet actually liked this food. She did not throw it all over the bottom of her cage like the other food. The Geisler food is simple - Basically just a few different types of seeds. There are no big vitamin looking chunks in this food (which my bird detests). I reviewed the ingredients and nothing stood out as being unhealthy. Some of the other foods I have given my bird have had maltodextrin in the ingredient list (which bothered me because I don't understand why it should be included in parakeet food). Obviously, all birds are different and other birds might hate the food my bird loves, but the Geisler food seems healthy and a bit less gimmicky than other brands.
